Dear Colleagues.

The Kyujanggak Institute for Korean Studies would like to invite paper and panel proposals for its fifth international Symposium on Korean Studies. It will be held on October 17 and 18, 2012, and this year, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the ROK and the PR China, the symposium theme will be "Chinese perceptions of Korea, Korean perceptions of China."

If you are interested in presenting at the symposium, please mail us you paper abstract and title, or in the case of panels (about four people including chair), the panel title and titles and abstracts of all individual papers, by May 10, 2012. Papers should be relevant to the conference theme, and can either deal with the modern or pre-modern periods. You will be notified by the end of May on the outcome of the selection process. Further details will then be communicated to selected participants. Lodging and meals will be provided for the duration of the conference, and speakers invited from overseas will be provided airfare (up to USD 1500). For more information, please contact the International Center for Korean Studies at icks at snu.ac.kr
