Call for Papers & participation to Conference :

*Whither the Two Koreas? Continuity and Change on the Korean Peninsula*

Central European University, Budapest, Hungary, 6th - 8th September 2012

 The Asia Research Initiative, the Department of International Relations
and European Studies, and the Department of Public Policy at Central
European University (Budapest, Hungary) are pleased to announce the
conference ‘Whither the two Koreas? Continuity and Change on the Korean
Peninsula’. The event is hosted by Central European University (CEU) in
Budapest and will take place on *6-8 September 2012*.

The event is supported by Korea Foundation, on the occasion of the launch
of the Global E-school in Eurasia, a project aimed at developing a
multi-university and multi-platform online real-time curriculum in Korean
Studies. Central European University is the first European university to
host a Global E-School, which brings together – alongside CEU, ELTE in
Budapest (Hungary), the University of Vienna, the American University of
Central Asia in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Paris-VII Diderot, La Rochelle, Turku
University (Finland), the Middle East Technical University in Ankara
(Turkey), Sofia University (Bulgaria), and the Tajik State University of
Commerce in Dushanbe (Tajikistan).

The event seeks to increase the awareness of the importance of Korea and
Korean Studies in Central and Eastern Europe and beyond. The areas covered
in the conference range from the arts to the social sciences. Pre-organised
panel submissions are strongly encouraged.

  *Submission of Proposals*

Proposals should be submitted via e-mail to conf.kfeschool at gmail.com (as an
attachment in MS Word, RTF or PDF format). Please include:

1) Name

2) Institutional affiliation

3) Title/position

4) E-mail address

5) A one-page CV

6) Title of Paper (maximum 20 words)

7) Abstract of Paper (maximum 250 words)

The working language of the conference is English.

The deadline for abstracts is 15st July 2012. Applicants will be notified
of the outcome of their submission by the end of July.

Full details of the program, conference fee, registration and accommodation
arrangements will be available by early August.
