Please find below the job ad for a position in Korean studies at Yonsei
University, Underwood International College.

The Underwood International College of Yonsei University invites
applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant or Associate
Professor of Asian Studies Program to teach at the International campus in
Songdo, Incheon, located within the greater Seoul metropolitan region. The
specialization is open, but preference will be given to candidates who
specialize in the history or literature of Korea. Applicants must have
strong research credentials and a firm commitment to liberal arts
undergraduate education.

Teaching responsibilities are 6 credit-hours (2 classes) per semester. The
starting date is March 2013. Compensation includes competitive salary,
health insurance and other benefits,

fully-subsidized housing (for up to 6 years), and a generous relocation and
start-up package.

Yonsei University's Underwood International College is a highly competitive
program at South Korea's most prestigious private university. UIC combines
the intimate atmosphere and low student-faculty ratio of a liberal arts
college with the resources of a major research university. All instruction
is in English, and the student body consists of only native and near-native
speakers of English drawn from over 40 different countries. As part of
Yonsei University’s continuing effort to increase faculty diversity, we are
only accepting applications from non-Korean citizens. Women and
underrepresented minorities are especially encouraged to apply.

Interested applicants should send a cover letter, a one-page statement of
teaching philosophy, dissertation abstract, 3 names of reference, and c.v.
by email: (uic at yonsei.ac.kr). Review of applications will begin August 30,
2012. Short-listed candidates will be asked to submit

3 letters of recommendation, a writing sample, sample syllabi, and teaching
evaluations. For additional information, please contact Prof. Helen J.S.
Lee (helenlee at yonsei.ac.kr). Prospective applicants are also encouraged to
look at our website at http://uic.yonsei.ac.kr.
