Call for Papers



The 5th Conference of the Association for Korean Studies in Tübingen



The 5th Conference of the Association for Korean Studies will be hosted by
the Department of Chinese and Korean Studies of the University of Tübingen
and will take place from November 14th to 15th, 2014.



The Association for Korean Studies is an organization for specialists in
Korean Studies primarily in the German-speaking area. The Purpose of the
Association is to deepen the intercommunication between specialists in
Korean Studies and scholars who are interested in Korea. It also aims at
the promotion of young academic professionals.

That is the reason why not only specialists in the field of Korean studies,
but also scholars of neighboring disciplines (such as Chinese or Japanese
studies) and methodological disciplines (political science, sociology,
ethnology, historical science etc.) are welcome, as long as their research
holds a Korea-reference.



Papers can be submitted in reference to every field of the Korea-research:
history, politics, society, economy, culture, literature, religion, arts,
and language et al.



Not only single presentation, but also panels with up to five papers are
highly welcome.

20 minutes of presentation and 10 minutes of discussion are scheduled for
every panel.



Registration:

The registration requires an abstract (maximum 1000 words) with personal
data and information about institutional belonging that should be send to
koreanistik at uni-tuebingen.de

Deadline for the registration is the 10th May 2014

The members of the Association of Korean Studies are being welcome to join
the Conference on the 15th November 2014.



Costs:

The participation at the Conference is free of charge. A registration,
however, is strongly requested.

For the panelists and speakers a hotel overnight stay with breakfast will
be provided.

Due to the limited budget, the refunding of transportation costs is
principally not intended. In case of hardships, an informal request should
be send to koreanistik at uni-tuebingen.de for consideration.
