Call for Papers4th Conference on Korean Screen CultureDepartment of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies (ToRS)University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen, DenmarkMay 29th – 30th 2015  Following successful conferences on Korean Screen Culture held at SOAS, the University of London (2012 & 2013), Sheffield Hallam Univesity (2014), the Korean Studies unit at the Department of Cross-cultural and Regional Studies (ToRS), University of Copenhagen is pleased to announce the 4th Korean Screen Culture Conference to be hosted by the Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies in collaboration with the Korea Foundation. The conference aims to examine critically some of the most important issues affecting Korean screen culture today; particularly cinema, television and music videos. We welcome proposals for papers and panels on all aspects of Korean screen culture, South and North Korean cinema past and present, video games, production, distribution& reception of film, television, K-pop music videos, also the transnational and transmedia aspects in Korean screen culture such as the impacts of the Korean Wave (Hallyu), transnational adaptations, co-productions, collaborations, and various transmedia practices.Papers on other forms of Korean screen culture will also be considered.  Proposals (for individual papers as well as panel proposals) should include the name, institutional affiliation, the title of the paper, an abstract of 400 words, and a 50-100 word biography of the author, please send a WORD file, NO PDFs please. Please send proposals by February 28th 2015 to Andrew David Jackson at krm769 at hum.ku.dk. All applicants will receive email confirmation of the receipt of their abstract within a week of submission. Successful applicants will be notified by mid-March and will be required to send the complete paper of 5,500 - 6,000 words by April 30th, 2015.
