[KS] Korea Economic Society

According to the East Asian Department of the University of Southern California, the Korea Economic Society was found in December 1944 here: Inquiries to Korea Economic Society :: Korean American Digital Archive I can only presume the Korea Economic Society was for an American victory during WWII which would lead to Korean independence from Japan. Does anyone know why, and by whom, the Korea Economic Society was founded, and when the New York City branch was opened?
