The Department of Chinese and Korean Studies of the Institute of Asian and
Oriental Studies (AOI) at Eberhard Karls University Tübingen is inviting
applications for the following position

Postdoctoral Fellow in Korean Studies

(Salary according to German TV-L 13, 100%)

The contract period for this position is due to commence on March 1, 2016
and ends on September 30, 2019.

Requirements for appointment are an above-average Ph.D.-degree in Korean
Studies or related disciplines, as well as proficiency in spoken and written
Korean and in German or English. The Ph.D. must be completed by the time of
appointment.

The fellow is expected to participate and contribute to research projects
and programs on Modern Korea, most of all in the fields of colonialism, Cold
War or migration. The Korean Studies Program is especially interested in
candidates whose research can complement and strengthen the existing
approach of situating Korean history, society and culture into an East Asian
and global context. The fellow is expected to teach two courses per semester
(4 hours per week) and to contribute administrative work, including
assistance in the administration of the Korean Studies library.
