[KS] Job Posting: PhD Research Fellow position in Korean Studies at Frankfurt

With generous funding from the Academy of Korean Studies, Korean Studies within Interdisciplinary Centre for East Asian Studies (IZO) at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main is seeking to fill

Two PhD Research Fellow positions (Wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in)  (E13 TV-G-U, 50% part-time), fixed term for three years from 01.10.2015.

Key Tasks

·      Write a PhD thesis within the scope of the research project "Transnational Migration in and out of Korea". The thesis should be submitted by the end of the contract period.

·      Support in preparing and teaching classes (2 SWS/2h per week)

·      Organizational support for research activities, colloquia and conferences

·      Contribute to publications/academic articles and presentations at conferences


·      Proof of completion of a Master's degree with an above-average GPA in Korean Studies or related fields; or in a related field with a focus on migration.

·      A very good command of English in speaking and writing is indispensable. Proficiency in German and Korean desirable.

·      Theoretical and practical experiences in E-Learning desirable

·      Excellent communication (speaking and writing) and organizational skills
