Contemporary Film Studies is a peer-reviewed journal of academic film
studies in Korea, which is dedicated to discussing the history, theory, and
aesthetics of film and the moving image. For its every issue, Contemporary
Film Studies invites original submission from scholars working outside of
Korea who wish to contribute to deepening our understanding of Korean
cinema, both contemporary and historical, and its interactions and relation
with other national cinemas in its ever more globalized film-making
practices. As an international forum for scholarship and debate on Korean
cinema, the journal encourages article submissions from a variety of
critical and interdisciplinary perspectives such as, but not limited to:
nationalism, colonialism, post-colonialism, trans-nationalism, globalism,
locality, and urbanization.

Author Guidelines

Manuscripts are accepted either in English or Korean and should be between
5000 and 7500 words including footnotes and references. An abstract of 300
words and 5-6 keywords should be also be included in the submission
(English abstract for the Korean manuscript, and vise versa). For English
manuscripts, please follow the notes and bibliography citation system
described in The Chicago Manual of Style. For Korean manuscripts, please
refer to the Editorial Guidelines in the journal's website (
http://cofri.hanyang.ac.kr) for the details. All papers are to be
double-blind reviewed. Authors are requested to place their name,

self-identifying citations in the article text for the initial submission.
