Position, Visiting Assistant Professor in Korean art history,
University of Kansas

The Kress Foundation Department of Art History at the University of
Kansas is seeking a specialist in Korean art history for a one-year,
non-tenure-track, limited term position (with possible one-year
renewal) as a visiting assistant professor to begin as early as August
18, 2015.
The successful applicant will teach four courses per year in Korean
art history, including undergraduate and graduate courses, advise
graduate students, provide service to the department and the
university, and maintain an active research program. Courses scheduled
for the fall semester include an upper division undergraduate/graduate
course on Korean ceramics and an online introductory course on modern
(from 1600) and contemporary Korean art and culture. The visiting
assistant professor can choose her/his own course topics for the
spring semester.

Required qualifications: Ph.D. in East Asian art history with a Korean
focus is expected by the start date of the appointment; demonstrated
potential for high quality teaching and a commitment to teaching
excellence in Korean art history at the graduate and undergraduate
levels; demonstrated capacity to direct graduate research using Korean
sources.
