‘Shared Heritage’ - as New Variable in the Indo-Korean Relations:
Historicizing the Legend of Princess from Ayodhya and its Legacy’

Call for Papers

Indian Council for Cultural Relations, in collaboration with India
International Centre, New Delhi, India is organizing an International
bilateral conference on ‘Shared Heritage’ - as New
Variable in the Indo-Korean Relations: Historicizing the Legend of Princess
from Ayodhya and its Legacy’
during 14-15 July, 2015 at India International Centre, New Delhi.

The conference emphasizes on the cultural contact between India and Korea
in the backdrop of the legend of Ayodhya Queen as well as examines the
impact of this legend on the Korean society. By linking
shared cultural past with the present, conference intends to provide a
powerful cultural variable that can help in forging much closer partnership
between India and Korea.

Full length research papers are invited on the following sub topics:-

1. The Legend of Ayodhya Princess and its historicity
2. Impact of the legend of Ayodhya Princess and its Legacy on Korean
society and culture
3. Legend of Ayodhya Princess and its role in the shaping of Korean
political history
4. Idea of ‘Korean Homogeneity’ and the legend of Ayodhya Princess
5. Prospects of the Legend of Ayodhya Princess in promoting Indo-Korean
relations
6. Economics of Shared Cultural Heritage: Ayodhya as New Destination for
Korean Tourism
Industry.
7. Ayodhya Princess and the Journey of Indian Social Norms, Values and
Symbols to Korea.

Abstracts along with brief bio profiles should be sent to the Academic
Coordinator on juttam at mail.jnu.ac.in and copy on conscs.iccr at gov.in latest
by 25th May, 2015.

The selected scholars would be intimated about their participation by 20th
June, 2015.
