Oxford-Wolfson Min Sunshik Graduate Scholarship in
Modern Korean Literature
(for Master of Studies in Korean Studies)
Wolfson College and the International Communication Foundation are
offering a fully-funded graduate scholarship at the University of Oxford
from the beginning of the academic year 2017-2018 for a student
undertaking a Master of Studies in Korean Studies. Preference will be
given to applicants focussing on Modern Korean Literature and
Translation Studies.
The Scholarship is open to applicants who are ordinarily resident in the
UK, EEA or Switzerland and will cover: tuition fees, college fees, and a
living stipend to the equivalent of the UK Research Council rate
(£14,296 for 2016-17). The successful scholar will become a member of
Wolfson College.
We are seeking young scholars who intend to pursue careers dedicated to
relating Korean Literature to World Literature through the translation
and interpretation of Modern Korean Literature. The successful applicant
will also be expected to participate in the academic life of Wolfson
College.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified graduates who are
applying for entry to the Faculty of Oriental Studies to commence a
taught postgraduate degree in the field of Korean Studies, with a focus
on Korean Literature, from October 2017. The Scholarship is awarded on
the basis of academic merit and potential. If there are two or more
candidates of equal academic merit, priority will be given to the
candidate who has listed Wolfson as his or her first choice college on
the University application form.
Applicants, whether internal or external, should apply to the University
under the standard procedures for graduate degrees for 2017-18. The
University’s application procedures are described at
https://www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/graduate/applying-to-oxford/application-guide?wssl=1.
The final deadline for applications is 20 January 2017.
