Volume 16.2 of the Sungkyun Journal of East Asian Studies is now available online (http://sjeas.skku.edu), with several contributions that in one way or another are relevant to Korean Studies. Kyung Moon Hwang writes about the representation of history in Korean feature films. An article by Minju Lee and Keunsik Jung deals with Japanese censorship of Korean newspapers in the colonial period, while Peter Kornicki examines the circulation of a Tang governance manual, Zhenguan zhengyao, in Japan, Korea and Vietnam, as well as among the Tangut, Khitan, Jurchen and Mongols. “Theorizing ‘Person’ in Confucian Ethics” by Roger Ames, will be of interest to students of Korean Confucianism. The issue also contains a review by Sohyeon Park of Jisoo Kim’s The Emotions of Justice: Gender, Status, and Legal Performance in Chosǒn Korea.
