*University Lecturer in Korean Studies-Cambridge,UK*

The post is full-time. Appointment will be for a probationary period of 
five years and, subject to satisfactory performance, with appointment to 
the retiring age thereafter.

The University of Cambridge is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Assistant 
Professor) in Korean Studies in the Department of East Asian Studies, to 
begin on 1 September 2020.

The successful candidate must have a PhD in hand by the time of arrival 
at Cambridge and have a proven ability to read and teach Korean as well 
as having an excellent command of the spoken language.

The appointee will be required to teach undergraduates and graduates, to 
undertake REF-submissable research, and be an active administrative 
member of the department. The position will include teaching language 
classes and electives in the candidate's field of expertise.

The department welcomes applications from scholars of any discipline 
within Korean Studies, and encourages especially applicants who can both 
complement existing strengths and connect to scholarship within the Faculty.
