Dear Werner Sasse

Hong Sŏk-mo's avoidance of the Chŏngjo's name does not seem to relate to his blood relation (12촌) with Chŏngjo. Naming taboo (避諱) culture prevented the use of characters from a king's name. So people used the posthumous name (諡號) and temple name (廟號). And the name of the royal tomb (陵號) was also used to indicate the owner of the tomb. Here are some examples relating to other kings.
