The George Washington University
Institute for Korean Studies2022 Book Manuscript Workshop
The George Washington University Institute for Korean Studies (GWIKS) is
pleased to announce the Korean Studies Book Manuscript Workshop for *scholars
at any stage of their careers working on their monograph*. This workshop is
intended to provide support for scholars, regardless of citizenship,* in
the social sciences* who are in the middle phase of writing their
monograph. GWIKS will select one (1) scholar on the basis of their
potential contribution to Korean Studies.

The participant will attend one half-day workshop and collaborate with
three commentators on the conceptualization and finalization of the
monograph.

Due to the uncertainty of travel and university operation guidelines, this
workshop may be held online via Zoom. If we are able to hold this Book
Manuscript Workshop in DC, GWIKS will provide roundtrip airfare (economy
class), accommodations, and meals for the duration of the workshop. Limited
funds may be available for participants traveling from outside the United
States.

Applications will be open until *Friday, March 4, 2022*. Once selected, the
author should send in their manuscript by Friday, June 24, 2022 in order to
ensure enough time for the commentators to review the manuscript and make
comments accordingly. The workshop will be held on Friday, *September 23,
2022*.

*Eligibility*
Applicants must be affiliated with an academic institution, with a large
portion of their manuscript complete (i.e., the introduction and two (2) or
more substantive chapters, or about 30,000 words total).
