"Post-pandemic Korean language education"

The Australian Association of Teachers of Korean (AUATK) invites individual abstracts, panel, and workshop presentation proposals from established scholars, early career researchers, postgraduate students, and Korean language education practitioners for the Third AUATK International Conference and Teacher Workshop, to be held on December 15-17th 2022 at the University of Western Australia, Perth. The event is generously supported by the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS-2022-C005) and the Korean Education Centre in Australia.

The 2022 conference theme will be Post-Pandemic Korean Language Education. The event organisers aim to capitalise on the lessons learned during the Covid-19 pandemic, foster reflections about alternative forms of effective Korean language teaching, and promote research-based and technology-supported methodologies to improve Korean language education. Proposals also dealing with other aspects of Korean language and culture education and Korean applied linguistics will be considered. The 2022 event will feature research presentations on Day 1 (December 16) and hands-on workshop-style presentations on Day 2 (December 17).

The event organisers will provide:
- Twin-share room accommodation for three nights to all participants.
- Welcome reception on December 15.
- Lunch on December 16 & 17.
- Conference dinner on December 16.
- Travel support grants will be available for school teachers and MA/PhD students participating in the event. The number and amount of travel grants will depend on final funding availability. Priority in assigning travel grants will be given to participants based in Australia.

The organisers will waive the conference registration fees for all participants. However, participants will be required to be AUATK members for 2022 or to join the association upon participating in the event (membership fee is A$40 for academics and teachers, and A$20 for Ma/PhD students).
