[KS] Call for Editors at the Asia Pacific Viewpoint (APV) Journal

Dear all,

Asia Pacific Viewpoint (APV), a peer-reviewed and internationally recognised journal that publishes academic research within the social sciences, arts and humanities on the Asia Pacific, is recruiting Editors to be involved in the editorial process.

With the change of Editor-in-Chief, we now are looking for additional editors in area studies, including Korean studies.

While this call is open (no specific deadline), we will review applications every June.


Editor Position Description

The key responsibilities of an Editor are:

  *   Handle peer review process
  *   Represent and promote the Journal amongst colleagues/at conferences
  *   In collaboration with the Editors-in-Chief and the Editorial Office, make every effort to ensure that there is no defamatory or plagiarised material
  *   Disclose conflicts of interest that may affect ability to peer review management work objectively
  *   Attend Editorial Meetings in person or via teleconference (currently planning to have one annual meeting, via teleconference)
  *   Ensure that the content of contributions meets appropriate ethical proprieties and high international standards of ethical practice in respect to research involving human or animal subjects
  *   Maintain confidentiality of journal matters, content and collaborators
  *   Carry out the responsibilities of Editor to the reasonable satisfaction of the Editors-in-Chief
  *   Identify and suggest topics and authors for invited manuscript submissions for consideration to Editors-in-Chief
  *   In consultation with Editors-in-Chief, Editor could act as Associate Editors for thematic special issues on a given topic considered to be of particular interest and relevance for the sector

Editors’ names and affiliations are included on the journal home page and masthead.
The Editor position is voluntary and honorary.
Editor membership has a duration of two years, with possibility of renewal and extension, as recommended by the Editors-in-Chief and the Editorial Office.
