The Korea-Australia Relations Project (KARP) at the University of Melbourne is delighted to invite you to the launch of its major report, Expanding Australia-Korea People-to- People Exchanges [한국-호주 인적교류 확대 방안], on Friday 4 August at 12pm AEST (11am KST).
The report is the culmination of over 15 months of interviews, fieldwork and roundtables with almost 100 extraordinary Australians and Koreans into the people-to- people (P2P) links that underpin the bilateral relationship. The report covers a broad range of topics, including migration, renewable energy, agriculture, media and education.
To celebrate the report’s release, Professor Kim Woosang of Yonsei University will deliver a special lecture on “Korea, Australia and Middle Power Cooperation in an Era of Power Transition.” One of Korea’s most eminent scholars and theorists, Professor Kim is Professor of Political Science and Diplomacy at Yonsei University, a former South Korean Ambassador to Australia and former President of the Korea Foundation.
Following Professor Kim’s remarks, the webinar will feature a panel discussion between the report’s author, Dr Peter K. Lee, and two leading experts on the Australia- Korea relationship:
Dr Peter K. Lee, Korea Foundation Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne
Dr Park Jae Jeok, Associate Professor in the Graduate School of International Studies & Underwood International College at Yonsei University
Dr Lauren Richardson, Lecturer in the Department of International Relations at the Australian National University and Board Member of the ANU Korea Institute
We hope you can join us to celebrate the launch of this milestone report. Please see more details in the attached flyer.
Best wishes,
Theo
