[KS] UHawaii Book Talk Tue 3/21/23: Historian Todd Henry on Fashion Icon Andre Kim

The Center for Korean Studies at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa is
delighted to host the *historian** Todd Henry* (University of California,
San Diego). Professor Henry presents on the life and career of *André Kim
(1935-2010), South Korea’s first male fashion designer to gain a worldwide
reputation*. By analyzing his visits to Hawai'i and the US mainland,
Professor Henry shows *how André Kim exploited First World markets*, while
advancing international understanding, post-colonial reconciliation, and
social justice.
