Dear KS List members,
Over the past two years, researchers at Monash University and Ruhr
University Bochum have been compiling entries for an online Hanmun-English
dictionary. The aim is to provide students and researchers of Korean
sources written in literary Sinitic with a tool to help them with their
research. We have attempted to compile entries of frequently used
characters used in Korean sources, provide explanations and where possible
sample sentences to provide context.

Over the next two years, we plan to increase the number of entries in the
dictionary and add a glossary of frequently used terms in the Joseon Sillok
and also links to the new online Hanmun grammar resource being developed
by Ruhr University Bochum Korean Studies.

This is a huge undertaking, and we call on any researchers or students of
literary Sinitic to help build the dictionary by contributing any entries
and by reporting (and correcting) any errors.
