in general: yes
in Korean: No

Additionally the Korean Language kit suffers from many other woes
covered on this forum a while back. Though Since OS 8.5, the Mac is now fully
Unicode so reading files that are just text or html are easier than before.

Personally i hate PCs and only use UNIX or Mac so would like to see apple
come out with an academic extended version of the KLK that included more
fonts and more Hanja and a dictionary. implementation wise the KLK is solid
as software, but lacking in content to such a degree that any serious academic
work is hard to do.

I hate the PC and windows with every fiber of my being, but for Korean...

ps. There is a version of hwp for Mac though, but i don't have it here at the
moment so i can't tell you if it makes up for any of the shortcomings of the KLK.
I bet it does. It's a pretty mean little (actually quite bloated) piece of software last i looked.

meanwhile what *is* nice about the mac is that any worldscript compatible apps (many are)
can use any language that you have a kit for. This means that my worldscript aware realtime
dsp synthesis engine (called SuperCollider) can use Korean in it, so can Max/MSP and several other
music apps that i use. That is kind of cool actually.
