Korean Language and Cultural Studies Announcement-- SUNY Binghamton
Korean Language and Cultural Studies. The Department of German, Russian
and East Asian Languages invites applications for a tenure track,
assistant professor position in Korean Language; the hire will lead to a
joint appointment with another department, such as History, Comparative
Literature, etc. in keeping with the candidate's specialization. Ph.D.
required. Salary is competitive. The appointee will be expected to
develop a language/cultural studies program in Korean, building on the
current elementary and intermediate offerings in Korean language, to
engage in research, and to work with a large East Asian heritage community
on campus. Applicants should send a letter of application, CV, 3 letters
of reference, evidence of outstanding teaching and publication (including
a writing sample, a teaching portfolio, a statement describing a teaching
philosophy, and, if possible, a videotaped teaching demonstration) to the
Korean Search Committee, Department of German, Russian and East Asian
Languages, Binghamton University, the State University of New York,
Binghamton, N. Y. 13902-6000. Screening will begin mid October, but
applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Binghamton
