Dear Kevin,
I remember, that one of the first Korean-English Dictionaries was also compiled by James Gale in 1897. Afterwards, Rev. Gale re-printed his dictionary several times. I recall using this dictionary when I was a student of the Oriental Faculty of St.-Petersburg National Un-ty. It seemed quite systematical and included lots of terms on Late Choson administration and society we did need.
With regards,
Vladimir Tikhonov,
KyungHee Un-ty, Korea.
