Yes I am told a similar thing, this also occurs in Papua New Guinea wher
the Dog and mainly the Pig are beaten alive to tenderise their meat.
Much the same way as we also tenderise our beef steak by beating the
meat with a mallet to tenderise it. Maybe in the past white tribes did
the same thing with cattle?
