Perspective" is the theme of the conference.

The conference aims to enhance interdisciplinary

focused on (1) the nature of Korean Studies in the age
of globalization; (2) tradition and modernity in
Korean modernization ; (3) histocial continuity and
discontinuity between colonial period and
post-colonial period; (4) usefulness and problems of
postcolonialism and postmodernism in Korean Studies;
(5) the nature of modernity embedded in Korean society
during the 20th century; (6) nationalism and national
identity in globalization.

to "internationalize" the membership by inviting at

250 word (maximum) statement that explains the session
as a whole.

Selected papers and panels will receive partial
financial assistance (unspecified amount at the
moment) for travel and meals.
