Anyone who plans to be in Tokyo over the third weekend of June may

We have planned a number of panels on Korea.  Please consult the

information.  The deadline for papers in set for November 25 if you 
are interested in participating in the

The 9th annual Asian Studies Conference Japan (ASCJ) will be held 
June 18-19, 2005 at Sophia University$B+c(Bs Ichigaya Campus.  The ASCJ, a 
branch of the U.S.-based Association for Asian Studies, features a 
multi-disciplinary range of panels on Japan and other Asian 
countries. Special highlights this year include the keynote speech by 
Dr. Yoneo Ishii, Emeritus Professor of Kyoto University, on the topic 
$B!c(BOrient$B#c(B to $B!c(BArea$B#c(B: Asian Studies in Japan$B#c(B, and a workshop on
