Position Open: International Program Coordinator of the International Division of the KIKS at SNU

 

The Kyujanggak Institute for Korean Studies at Seoul National University announces a new position opening for an International Program Coordinator who is committed to advancing international awareness of Korean studies. A Ph.D. in Korean Studies or related field is preferred but not required. Strong organizational, administrative and excellent written communication skills are necessary, and knowledge of Korean Studies throughout the world is desired. The duties include planning and executing various international activities and assisting the head of the Institute's Division of Education and Exchanges. Currently the Institute’s international activities are comprised of the followings: a fellowship program, and other scholarly exchange programs, the organization of occasional international conferences, running colloquium series, two-week educational summer workshops, and the publication of the Seoul Journal of Korean Studies and newly launched “Seoul-California Series in Korean Studies.”

 

Appointment will commence in August 2007 and made on a contract basis, initially for one or two years and renewable subject to mutual agreement. Salary will be commensurate with experience but no less than 36,000,000 won (1 USD=930 won). The Institute will offer a fringe benefit package, including medical Insurance.
