[KS] New Harvard Summer Course

Korea @ 2100, a course offered for the first time this summer at 
Harvard, is part of the intensive four-week program, June 25 – July 20. 
Four credits. Course instructor, Professor David R. McCann.

The course seeks to develop an informed sense of the distinctive 
features of Korean culture, present and past. Part I examines Korea's 
contemporary place in the world, with a focus on the Korean Wave; Part 
II, the twentieth century, issues of modernity, the Japanese colonial 
occupation, Liberation, Division, the Korean War, and rapid social 
political change; Part III, the historical past(s) as case studies. 
Final project consists of team reports on Korean culture and the 
interplay of the contemporary and the past.
