Call for Papers
 
Korean Religions Group of the American Academy of  Religion
Annual Meeting, November 7-10, 2009
Montreal, Quebec, Canada
 
 
We invite paper proposals for the KRG panel for this year's AAR  meeting in 
Montreal.  The proposal may deal with:
-sacred time, space, or cosmology in Korean religions;
-concepts of time in different Korean religions;
-religious meaning of place in Korean religions;
-religion and revolution, eschatology, and utopia in Korean  religions; and
-Korean religions and fiction or globalization.
 
We also invite papers for a potential joint panel with the  Daoist Studies 
Group on all aspects of Korean Daoism.  Especially welcome  are proposals that 
focus on the state of Daoist Studies in Korea; Korean  adaptation and uses of 
Chinese Daoist scriptural traditions; the popularization  of Daoist ideals and 
relations between Daoism and the state in Kory0 and Chos0n  periods.
 
The deadline for submitting proposals is March 1, 2009.
 
Please submit your proposals online, following these  steps:
1. Go to the American Academy of Religion web site (_www.aarweb.org_ 
(http://www.aarweb.org) ).
2. Click 2009 Annual Meeting's Call for Papers.
3. Click Browse by Program Unit and Type.
4. Click Korean Religions Group.
5. Click Online (for the method of submission).
6. Click a New Proposal
7. Click Individual Paper Proposal
8. Provide the requested information.
 
Participation requirements at the Annual Meeting:
Membership is not required to submit a proposal in response to  the Call for 
Papers.  However, all participants accepted to the program  must be current 
(2009) AAR members and registered for the Annual Meeting by June  15, 2009.  
Membership waivers are available to participants working outside  the field of 
the study of religion or participants from developing  nations.  Contact the 
program unit chair for more details on how to arrange  a waiver.
