[KS] Kyujanggak colloquium: Ganhwa seon as an exclusive way of practice (Prof. Ryan Joo)

Dear colleagues,

This Thursday, the 59th Kyujanggak colloquium will feature Prof. Ryan Bongseok Joo. Prof. Joo is professor at New Hampshire College and currently research fellow at the Kyujanggak Institute for Korean Studies.
This talk, in Korean, will be on the trend towards seeing Ganhwa seon (meditative practice based on contemplation of the "critical phrase," hwadu) as the exclusive way of Practice:

"Ganhwaseon yuiljuui ui yoksajeok gochal" (간화선 유일주의의 역사적 고찰)

The colloquium will start at 4:30 PM (Dec. 1), and will take place in the seminar room on the ground floor of the Kyujanggak building on the Gwanak campus of Seoul National University.
