Other platforms for pooling useful information include: 
 
--online editable documents by topic for posing questions & collecting answers (like those of docs.zoho.com or skydrive.live.com or drive.google.com)
 
--blog by topic (to pose a question) with the commenting function enabled to collect replies (e.g. blogger.com)
 
--a wiki, such as www.wikispaces.com in which a set of topics is laid out and a person can leave a question under the appropriate heading and others can supply answers
 
--a practitioner forum like those operated at flickr.com (photo users) or the various google services and products (person posts problem and others respond). Perhaps our younger colleagues know the software basis for those forum posting platforms?
