[Brother Anthony]

Professor Kim Yeol-gyu has died. The funeral Mass will be held at Sogang University tomorrow Friday morning at 9am. 

Born in 1931, educated at SNU, from 1962 until 1991 he was a professor in the Korean Language and Literature Department of Sogang University. He then moved to Inje University in Gimhae before finally spending several years at Keimyung University in Daegu. Others can describe better than I can, from their direct experience, his great impact on generations of students and on the whole field of cultural anthropology in Korea. He was a deeply revered figure.
