The death has been announced of Dr. Daniel Bouchez, 
CNRS Honorary Research Director in Korean Studies,
Chevalier of the Legion of Honour,
on Thursday April 17 2014 at 85 years of age.

>From 1958 until 1970 he taught at the Catholic Seminary in Seoul. 
>From 1972 he taught at the CNRS in Paris.
He was:
•President of the Association for Korean Studies in Europe, A.K.S.E. 1986-1988
•Directeur de l’Unité de Formation et de Recherche (U.F.R.) Asie orientale, Université Paris 7 (1988-1990)
•Founder and director of the U.R.A. "Korean Studies" in the C.N.R.S. associated with université Paris 7 (1990-1994)
•Representative in Korea of  the Ecole Française d'Extrême-Orient (E.F.E.O.) (1995-1997)
