[KS] [Event]Public Seminar at Oxford University

Dear List Members,

Oxford University has the honour to host Han Yumi (Ph.D) and Hervé
Péjaudier (Ph.D), for a public seminar titled 'Globalization of Korean
Culture and Art through the New Korean Wave Phenomenon in France: Reception
of Korean Literature and Translation Strategy,' which will be held at
Hertford College Graduate Centre on 20th May at 10am.

Han and Péjaudier have been hugely influential as researchers, translators,
and presenters of Korean literature and culture in France, having been
honoured for their efforts by the Korean Embassy in Paris, LTI Korea and
the Korean Minister of Culture. This seminar will discuss their numerous
activities bringing French culture to Korean audiences, with particular
focus on their translation of traditional and modern literature. They will
also address their experiments in performing the traditional sung
storytelling genre *p'ansori* in French, which will be demonstrated by
Péjaudier.
