Dear all,
We are pleased to announce the "Traditional Korean Studies" Joint Colloquium, co-hosted by Korea University's Institute for Global Humanities Research and Collaboration (IGHRC) and the SOAS Centre of Korean Studies.
- Date: Monday, 22 June 2026, 09:00–18:00- Venue: Khalili Lecture Theatre, SOAS, University of London
The two keynote lectures will be delivered by Prof. Hosub Jung (Korea University) on Goguryeo history and Prof. Wonseok Yang (Korea University) on Korean Shijing (Book of Songs) studies. (The keynotes will be given in Korean) Across two sessions, doctoral candidates and research professors from both SOAS and Korea University will present on topics including Chosŏn political history, painting, the tribute grain transport system, the reception of Western astronomy, and missionary activities.
We warmly invite those based in or near London to attend.
